Windows & Xbox Week: Shrek 2 Gets a Date, Game Pass Comes to T-Mobile and Arkane Lyon Gets More Time

Our roundup of Windows and Xbox gaming news from Oct. 19 to 26, 2026. Advanced Shader Delivery has its own article.

The biggest PC story this week was Advanced Shader Delivery reaching every major GPU vendor. We’ve covered it separately. Here’s everything else.

ID@Xbox x IGN Showcase (Oct. 20)

The ID@Xbox and IGN showcase included the reveals of A Game About Digging a Hole Together (Dec. 4, Game Pass) and Magenta Down (early 2027). Three CRITICAL REFLEX games are coming to Xbox:

  • Arctic Eggs launched on Xbox Series X|S the same day as the show.
  • Mouthwashing comes to Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Xbox One and Game Pass on Oct. 29.
  • No, I’m Not a Human arrives in 2027.

Shrek 2 Remastered launches on Series X|S on Nov. 10. Pre-orders are up to 20% off with Game Pass and 10% off without it, through Nov. 9. ZERO PARADES: Director’s Cut arrives Nov. 3. Scramble Knights Online launched today, Oct. 26, as a Game Pass Game Preview.

Next week on Xbox (Oct. 26-30)

Xbox Wire’s weekly list has roughly 50 games. The Wolf Among Us Remastered arrives Oct. 29 on Series X|S and Xbox One. It adds a Noir Mode and restored deleted scenes. Mouthwashing ($12.99, Play Anywhere) launches the same day. Other highlights are The Séance of Blake Manor (Oct. 27, Game Pass), Terrible Lizards (Oct. 29, Game Pass), SULFUR (Oct. 28) and Croc 2 (Oct. 29). Release dates can still change.

Game Pass in a phone plan (Oct. 26)

T-Mobile announced T-Mix, which lets U.S. customers choose the perks in their wireless plan. Starting in November, eligible T-Mix customers can choose Game Pass Ultimate or Premium. Xbox says this is the first time Game Pass has been offered through a U.S. wireless plan. Eligibility details are on T-Mobile’s side.

Windows Insider builds (Oct. 23)

Experimental build 26340.9767 adds a speed test in Quick Settings and a Mobile devices panel in Quick Settings. The panel has the fullest controls for Android phones (Do Not Disturb, ringer mode and play a sound), while iPhone gets a more limited status view. Feature flags in Insider settings can now be filtered by enablement state. There are no gaming changes. Beta build 26220.9757 also came out the same day.

Xbox PC app on Arm: not new this week

Some download sites list Xbox app 2610.1.1 (dated Oct. 22) with “now available on Arm-based Windows 11 PCs” release notes. That announcement is actually from Jan. 21, 2026. Microsoft said then that more than 85% of the Game Pass catalog works on Arm PCs. 2610.1.1 looks like a routine app update, and we couldn’t find official notes saying it does anything new for Arm.

Arkane Lyon gets one more month

Microsoft has extended the consultation over Arkane Lyon’s future by one month. A representative told PC Gamer that the company is exploring options, “including finding a partner to support the studio through the development work still ahead.” That work is Marvel’s Blade. Microsoft called it “a defined extension.” Reports, including Push Square’s, put the new end date at Dec. 13, a month after the previously reported Nov. 13. Microsoft’s quoted statement mentions a partner, not a buyer. Any sale is still speculation.

Opinion: A one-month extension is good news for the Dishonored team. But looking for a partner to finish Blade is different from saving the studio long term, and Dec. 13 is close to the holidays.
