Roundup: Edge Blocks Scam Notifications, Bazzite Testing Build, Quest 2 and Pro Support Timeline, PSVR 2 Leaves Sony's Store

Four quick stories for November 3, 2026

Edge now auto-blocks notifications from scam sites

Microsoft says that starting with Edge 156, which rolled out last month, when Microsoft Defender SmartScreen or Edge’s Scareware blocker detects a scam delivered through a website notification, Edge automatically turns off notifications from the site that sent it. An information bar explains what happened the next time Edge starts, and you can review and unblock sites in Edge Settings. Notification permission prompts also gain a “Block and report” option, which can include the requesting URL and a screenshot. Microsoft says Scareware blocker has been on by default on qualifying PCs for just over a year.

Bazzite testing-45.20261103.3 (testing branch only)

Bazzite published testing-45.20261103.3 on November 2. It’s a testing-branch build, marked as a pre-release, not a stable update. Compared with the previous testing build, the changelog lists the Nvidia LTS kernel moving from 6.18.56 to 6.18.60, plus package updates including tmux 3.8 and qemu-guest-agent 11.1.3. The main kernel is 7.2.15 and Mesa is 26.2.6. Only use it if you’re on the testing branch on purpose.

Meta sets the end of new features for Quest 2 and Quest Pro

Meta says Horizon OS v2.13 will be the final update with new OS features for Quest 2 and Quest Pro. It starts rolling out in January 2027 and reaches all devices by March 2027. Security updates and critical bug fixes continue through December 2027. Purchased apps keep working, and the Store, cross-play with Quest 3 and 3S, and PC VR remain available. Developers can submit new apps for these headsets through December 2027.

PSVR 2 disappears from Sony’s US and Japan web stores

Road to VR reports that Sony no longer sells PSVR 2 through its PlayStation web store in the US or Japan, while some regions, including the EU and UK, still list it. Road to VR also reports that stock at major US retailers is mostly gone or sold by third parties at a markup. Sony hasn’t commented officially, so whether this is a discontinuation is unconfirmed.
