NVIDIA's 621.01 Game Ready Driver Readies PCs for Phantom Blade Zero and Crimson Desert's Next Update

Phantom Blade Zero arrives October 28 and Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown follows on October 29, both with NVIDIA's full DLSS 4.5 suite.

NVIDIA released its GeForce Game Ready 621.01 WHQL driver, and its October 20 announcement names two upcoming releases: Phantom Blade Zero on October 28, followed by Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown on October 29. NVIDIA says both arrive “with a full suite of DLSS 4.5 technologies.”

Phantom Blade Zero

S-GAME’s action game casts you as Soul, a swordsman framed for his master’s murder and left with sixty-six days to live. NVIDIA says it offers over thirty primary weapons and more than twenty Phantom Edges.

On GeForce RTX GPUs, NVIDIA says the game uses DLSS 4.5 with Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, and its path-traced lighting is refined by DLSS Ray Reconstruction. Pre-orders are open on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown

NVIDIA’s post gives the name and the October 29 date and says it has DLSS 4.5 support, but it doesn’t describe the content. We’re not calling it an expansion until Pearl Abyss’s own notes say what it includes.

Also in this driver

NVIDIA says the same driver adds Advanced Shader Delivery support for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, which launched October 23, and covers Cyberpunk 2077’s October 22 update to DLSS 4.5 with Dynamic Multi Frame Generation. Get it through the NVIDIA app or GeForce.com.

Our take

If you’re playing either game at launch on an RTX card, install the driver first. DLSS 4.5 frame generation figures will depend on your GPU, and NVIDIA hasn’t published per-game numbers for these two titles in this post.
