Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown DLC Sets Sail October 29

Pearl Abyss’s Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown releases on Thursday, October 29. Pearl Abyss calls it downloadable content (DLC) for Crimson Desert Enhanced, and you need the Enhanced base game to play it (Steam).

When it unlocks

Pearl Abyss’s release-date notice sets the launch at 22:00 UTC on October 29, which is 3 PM PT, 5 PM CT and 6 PM ET, and 7 AM on Friday, October 30 in Korea and Japan. The DLC was originally due two weeks earlier. On September 30, Pearl Abyss pushed it to October 29, saying it needed “additional development time to deliver a more polished and stable gameplay experience.”

Pre-orders are open on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and the Epic Games Store. Pre-ordering gets you the Charter’s Diving Set for Kliff and Oongka and the Charter’s Light Diving Set for Damiane (Pearl Abyss via Games Press). The PlayStation Store listing adds a 10% pre-order discount for owners of Crimson Desert Enhanced or its Deluxe Edition.

What’s in it

From Pearl Abyss’s October 21 features overview:

• New stories for Kliff, Damiane and Oongka, with allies and threats old and new. The store pages tease “an ominous presence in the desert,” a political conflict, “a journey beyond time” and a secret under the sea.
• The Great Ocean of Pywel: unlock shipbuilding, gather materials, build and customize a ship, then sail to new islands to fight enemy forces and set up strongholds with the Greymanes.
• Diving: new underwater traversal for sunken ruins, treasure and resources.
• Relationships: earn certain characters’ trust to start a romance and eventually marry. Close companions can also visit the Greymane Camp.
• Housing and castles: design your home’s structure, down to walls and windows, and claim and decorate certain castles after liberating them.
• Business management: lease facilities around Pywel, staff them with comrades, pick what to sell and grow each one’s profits.
• A boss rush: a new challenge that sends powerful bosses from across Pywel at you one after another.

Pearl Abyss hasn’t published a price on its official pages that we could find.

On PC

NVIDIA’s GeForce Game Ready 621.01 driver lists Charting the Unknown among its supported releases and says it arrives “with a full suite of DLSS 4.5 technologies.” NVIDIA doesn’t break down which DLSS 4.5 features it uses or publish performance numbers for it. Install the driver before the October 29 unlock if you’re on an RTX card. On Steam, the DLC lists Denuvo Anti-tamper.
